Charles D. Sander, aged 72, died on September 7, 2018, in Osceola, Missouri, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The incident occurred at a gas station in Osceola, where Charles Sander fatally shot his son-in-law, Lance Kilgore, before turning the gun on himself.
