Melissa Peskey, a 40-year-old realtor from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was tragically killed on December 13, 2018, while driving along Interstate 70 near Boonville, Missouri. Initially, her death appeared to be the result of a car accident, but an autopsy revealed that she had been fatally shot from outside her vehicle. Peskey was traveling with her two children, ages 5 and 11, who were unharmed in the incident^1^.
