Zachary Shane 'Chunk' Rice, aged 41, tragically lost his life on January 18, 2021, in Nixa, Missouri. According to court documents, the incident occurred following an argument between Rice and a suspect, who was later identified as Cody Smith, a Springfield restaurateur. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a romantic relationship between the suspect and Rice's girlfriend. Both men were armed during the confrontation, which escalated to the point where Smith fatally shot Rice in the head.
