On the morning of January 27, 2013, Indianapolis police officers were dispatched to a residence on the northwest side of the city following a report of a person down. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located at 2702 Westlane Road, near the intersection of Westlane and Michigan Road. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered the lifeless body of 30-year-old Ousmane Goudiaby, a Black male who had sustained fatal injuries.
The investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department revealed that Goudiaby had been the victim of a violent attack. Early reports indicated that he had suffered both gunshot wounds and stabbing injuries, leading authorities to classify the death immediately as a homicide. Detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence, attempting to piece together the events that led to the brutal killing inside the residence.
Despite the efforts of homicide investigators, the case quickly ran cold. No immediate arrests were made in the aftermath of the discovery, and authorities did not release the names of any specific suspects. Over the years, the investigation into Ousmane Goudiaby’s death has remained open but unresolved, with the case eventually being listed in cold case databases. To date, no individuals have been charged or convicted in connection with his murder, and the motive behind the crime remains unknown.
