I’ve been following the Robert Mannie case and one aspect that really sticks with me is the proximity of the crime scene to residential areas. The idea that something so tragic could happen literally in the middle of a neighborhood is really unsettling. It makes you question how safe any of us really are in our own communities. I can’t even imagine what the residents of the 900 block of William Street must be going through, not to mention Mannie’s family and loved ones. This kind of violence leaves a mark on everyone, not just those directly involved. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change and how much we rely on our communities for support and safety. I hope they find some peace and comfort, though I know that won’t be easy.
