Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Mikiah Darden, and I can't stop thinking about how impactful ShotSpotter technology is. It's meant to be a tool that can alert police to gunfire almost immediately, which in theory could save lives by getting responders to the scene quicker. In Mikiah’s case, the police were there within minutes, but it still wasn’t enough. This makes me wonder about how effective these systems really are in preventing tragedies. Do they need to be paired with something else to make a bigger impact?
I’m really hoping any new pieces of information start coming to light soon; it must be an agonizing time for Mikiah’s loved ones not having answers yet. If anyone has thoughts or updates, please share. The community coming together could really make a difference here.
