It's truly difficult to wrap my head around the senseless loss of Skylar. I just read that he was trying to de-escalate the situation at J. Pfenny's when everything went so wrong. It takes a unique kind of bravery to step into a volatile situation with the hope of preventing further violence. It speaks volumes about the kind of person Skylar was—so selfless and protective. My heart really goes out to his daughter, Adalyn, and the rest of his family. It must be devastating for them to lose someone who seemed to bring so much light into the lives of those who knew him. Has anyone else heard about how the local community is planning more events or gatherings to honor Skylar and Corey Thames? It's touching to see so many come together to remember their lives and to support one another.
