Hey everyone, I just wanted to discuss Skylar Smock's bravery during the tragedy at J. Pfenny's Sports Grill and Pub. It's so hard to imagine the terror of that moment. Skylar stepped in to help defuse a volatile situation between Corey Thames and Damien Davis, which speaks volumes about his character. In trying to protect others, he put himself in harm's way—a selfless act that unfortunately cost him his life that night. Skylar may not have had a heroic background, but at that moment, he chose to act courageously. It truly breaks my heart for his family and friends, who have to grapple with this enormous loss while knowing he displayed such immense bravery. Let's keep remembering and honoring Skylar for his actions and ensure his family knows how much the community supports them during this incredibly painful time.

I've been thinking a lot about how the community rallies in times of tragedy. The way Jefferson City came together for Corey Thames and Skylar Smock's families really shows the strength and compassion of the people there. It's heartening to see folks organizing vigils and fundraisers—it truly reflects how deeply these losses have affected everyone. Corey was someone who touched many lives, and it’s evident from the outpouring of support that he made an impact. It’s small moments of unity like these that remind us of the good in humanity, even in the darkest times. I hope the families feel the love and support from all of us as they navigate through this unimaginable loss.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the senseless loss of Corey Thames and Skylar Smock. I’ve been reading through a lot of the posts and I find it so sad how things escalated to such a tragic level. I’ve been thinking a lot about Skylar too. From everything I’ve read, it seems like he was just trying to do his job, stepping in to defuse a situation that unfortunately turned deadly. It’s just devastating how he was caught in the crossfire. What really gets to me is the bravery Skylar showed. Not many people would have the courage to step in the way he did. And hearing about the fundraisers and community vigils makes you realize how deeply these losses are felt in Jefferson City. It’s both comforting and heartbreaking to see how a community can come together in the wake of such tragedy. Hoping some form of justice brings peace to the families involved, and that we can all find ways to support each other better in times of crisis. If anyone has any more info on ongoing fundraisers or ways to help out, please do share. ?
