I've been following the Rudy Boykins case, and something that caught my attention is the impact of modern technology on solving crimes. The fact that ShotSpotter played a pivotal role in alerting authorities to the shooting is pretty remarkable. It’s like technology gave Rudy a voice when he could no longer speak for himself. While heartbreaking to see such tragedies happen, I find some solace in knowing that tools like these can help bring justice. I can’t imagine the pain his loved ones are going through, but I hope this piece of technology eases some of their burden by ensuring the responsible party is held accountable. Thoughts on the role technology is playing in modern criminal investigations? Do you feel it's a game-changer or just a small part of the puzzle?

Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Rudy Boykins? I’ve been thinking a lot about the role that the ShotSpotter system played in this investigation. If it weren't for the ShotSpotter alert, who knows how long it might have taken for the police to discover Rudy's body? It's chilling to think about, but it seems like technology is becoming a critical tool in solving these tragic cases. It's comforting to see something positive coming out of a horrible situation; it gives hope that justice will be served for Rudy and his loved ones. The pain his family must be going through is unimaginable, but knowing that the person responsible is in custody because of swift police work and modern technology might offer some small solace. Does anyone know if there's been any talk about expanding these systems further in St. Louis?
