Being close to the paternal side of the family i can speak of the pain this caused everyone. Timmy moorman sr never recovered from the pain of losing his son so Richard and those that covered his mental defects not only took the life of this sweet boy but of his father as well. Its truly sad that the maternal side of the family has moved on as if nothing ever happened, sad but true. I literally watched his dad suffer depression and turn to drugs to numb the pain away and instead of a bit of sympathy they turned on him. Making awful social media posts about his pain not once taking into consideration that he was deeply wounded. Rip both of you. Together in heaven im positive they are. This horrible incident caused profound loss to many. Some of us to this day. I miss you everyday and cant wait until we meet again on that side.
Btw this family has had their share of loss. Larry Moorman, Kyle Moorman and children just to name a few.
Thank you for trusting us with something so raw. I’m deeply sorry for the pain your family has carried since losing Timmy, and for the weight his dad bore afterward. The way you describe his grief—how it changed his days and how hard it was to be understood—speaks to how profoundly he loved his son. I want to honor both of them by saying their names with care: Timmy Moorman II and his father, Timmy Sr.
Grief inside a family can be complicated and uneven. People cope in different ways, at different speeds, and sometimes that can feel like distance or indifference. I can’t speak to anyone else’s intentions, but I hear clearly what you witnessed on the paternal side and how isolating that felt. Your perspective matters, and your love for Timmy and his dad is evident in every word.
