I've been following the case of Roshun Johnson, and something that's really been on my mind is the role that online platforms play in these kinds of tragic situations. As a parent, it's terrifying to think about how easily kids can get into dangerous situations using apps like "Meet Me." The fact that Roshun was only 15 and using this app to interact with strangers is alarming. It's a reminder of how important it is for us to have open conversations with our kids about online safety and the potential consequences of their actions. I also wonder about the kind of supervision and guidance he had at home and in school. I know the school implemented a crisis plan after his death, which is so necessary, but it makes me think about what more can be done proactively to teach teenagers about the realities and risks of online communication in today's world. If anyone has experience or insights into how communities can address this issue, I'd really love to hear your thoughts. How can we reach kids before something like this happens again?
