Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the community impact following Shawn Magerski’s tragic death. It seems like his murder is part of a larger issue that’s been affecting Gary for quite some time. From what I've gathered, violence in the area has really taken a toll on families there, and Shawn’s story just brings that to light again. I’m curious if anyone here has thoughts on what the community can do to try to change things? It's disheartening to think about the kids in these neighborhoods growing up with this level of violence around them. I wonder if there are any local initiatives or programs working to address this? Maybe there's something we, as a community or even those outside of Gary, could do to support those efforts? I’d love to hear more about any organizations or locals who are actively trying to make a difference. Shawn’s family, and all the families affected by this ongoing violence, deserve justice and some form of peace. Keeping them in my thoughts. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.
