Hi everyone,
I've been following the case of Ashley Minatel and something that's really been on my mind is the location where this all happened. Peoga Road is not exactly bustling with activity, right? For an area that's usually so quiet, it's hard to grasp how something this terrible could occur without more people taking notice. I just keep thinking about how isolated that road is—did anyone hear something but dismiss it, thinking it was something else?
And then, there's the part about the 35-year-old man who lived at the home and reported the shots. Clearly, there's more we need to understand about their relationship and any possible dynamics at play. My heart goes out to Ashley's family, especially her daughter, knowing they'll be dealing with this immense loss while answers are still so elusive.
It’s reassuring that the authorities are taking their time to piece together a thorough investigation. I hope they're considering everything about the location and any potential witnesses who might’ve been nearby. If anyone has any thoughts or insights into the area's layout or the people involved, please chime in.

Hi I was a good friend of hers and I too have always been disturbed that Mike, Ashleys boyfriend at the time and father to their child has never been charged with anything at all. In fact he was never even brought back in for questioning after the initial night they took him in for questioning after the incident happened. So many things are wrong with how he says this happened and no one believes it him that was close to her or even some that knew him and were friends with him at the time. He has made disgusting comments regarding it all and honestly the fact that hes free and has their daughter and gets to create memories and yet he took that away from Ashley and her daughter it haunts me and this now has been 7 long years! I see that you stated the investigaters are still working on this case to take their time. May I ask where youve seen that? As far as I had known the prosecutor was given the case and nothing has been done with it for 7 years now so would love to know that that is because they are still investigating it? Or if you know how or who I could go to to get more information on what’s happening or happened with this? Thanks ~B

On the “still investigating” point: what I’ve seen publicly is that in March 2020 the Brown County prosecutor said no criminal charges would be filed based on the information they had at the time, citing self-defense under Indiana law, but also stated the matter would remain an open investigation and encouraged anyone with information to come forward. That’s the basis for saying it’s “open,” though I totally understand why it can feel like nothing is happening.
Does anyone else find it puzzling that the 35-year-old man, who lived with Ashley and called 911, was released so quickly after questioning? I know it’s important not to jump to conclusions, but it seems odd, given the severity of the situation. I’m curious about his relationship with Ashley and if there could be more to their dynamic. It must be so confusing for Ashley’s family right now to not have clear answers. They deserve to know what really happened to her. My heart goes out to her little daughter—losing a mom at such a young age is unimaginable. I'm hoping the detectives can piece everything together soon for their sake. Thoughts?
