I was thinking about the role of underage drinking in this terrible tragedy. It's so disheartening to hear about a promising life like Garrett's being cut short because of a reckless decision. It's just a reminder of how quickly things can escalate when alcohol is involved, especially with young people. Nathan's actions were undeniably horrible, but it makes me wonder if the culture around teen drinking and parties contributed to this situation. I hope this case sparks more conversations in Terre Haute and beyond about the dangers of underage drinking and the importance of thinking twice before making decisions that seem harmless at the moment. My heart goes out to Garrett’s family as they navigate through this unimaginable loss.
