It's truly unsettling how a simple argument next door turned into such a devastating tragedy. I've been following Toni Raie Salee-Bittler’s case, and the more I learn about her, the more my heart goes out to her family and friends. She sounded like such a vibrant part of her community, someone who genuinely cared about others. It's clear she was doing amazing work with Churches Embracing Offenders, giving people second chances, and spreading positivity. To think that her life was cut short by such a reckless act is both infuriating and profoundly sad. It’s a reminder of how fragile life can be and how the actions we take can ripple out to affect so many others. The fact that Ricardo Abreu was sentenced to only a relatively short prison term doesn’t sit right with me; it feels like justice doesn’t match the impact of losing Toni. My thoughts are with her husband and father, who had to relive their pain during the trial and now carry the weight of her absence every day. I hope they find the support and healing they need during such a difficult time.
