I've been following the tragic case of Debra Floyd, Peggy Burks, and Lawrence Burks, and one aspect that's been weighing heavily on my mind is the role of protective orders. Peggy had filed one against Lawrence, which is such a brave step to take. It's devastating that even with this legal measure, things still turned out so tragically. It makes me wonder how these protective measures can be strengthened or enforced to truly safeguard those in danger. My heart goes out to Debra’s family and everyone impacted by this senseless act. Such loss and heartbreak in a community is unimaginable. Would love to hear thoughts on what more can be done to ensure these tragedies don't keep happening.
