Hey everyone, I’ve been following Gary Hoffman's disappearance closely, and something that keeps bugging me is the choice of location where he disappeared. The Ulupalakua area isn't exactly a well-traveled path, so why would someone choose to go off into a field there? It seems out of character unless he was meeting someone or trying to hide something. Could he have known the area well and had a particular purpose for going there? It's such a vast and isolated place, which makes it even more challenging for search efforts. Just curious if anyone else thinks there's a reason he might have gone to that specific spot intentionally.
Has anyone else been intrigued by the fact that Gary Hoffman was last seen walking into a field near Mile Marker 20 on the Kula Highway? It's fascinating (and a bit unsettling) how he just vanished without a trace. Given the remote and rugged terrain of the Ulupalakua area, I wonder if there were any natural hazards or obstacles he might have encountered that weren't immediately evident. Also, with Maui's ecosystem being so dense in some places, could it be possible that he simply lost his way without a clear path? If anyone's familiar with the area, do you know of any obscure trails or hidden spots that might not have been covered in the initial search efforts? Curious to hear other theories on this.
