Did anyone else catch the details about the accelerant used in the fire at Ronald Whiles’s home? I read somewhere that it was likely gasoline, which seems pretty common, but it got me thinking about how cold and calculated this crime was. To shoot someone multiple times and then have the presence of mind to set a fire to try to cover it up is just chilling. I can’t imagine what the first responders must have felt arriving to such a tragic scene. My heart goes out to Mr. Whiles’s family and friends, who not only have to grapple with losing him but also the knowledge of the horrific circumstances. It's a harsh reminder of the violent world we sometimes live in.
