Hey everyone, just wanted to share something that’s been on my mind about the Donna Michelle Calloway case. Has anyone else been puzzled by the delay in filing the missing person report? It’s baffling that it took over a year from her last sighting in June 2018 to when the report was finally accepted in August 2019. That’s a really long time for there to be no official investigation launched.
From what I’ve heard, her family was trying to report her missing much earlier, but the police initially refused to take the report. With Donna's mild intellectual disability making her vulnerable, this delay seems like a huge missed opportunity to gather crucial early evidence. I can’t help but wonder what if something vital was overlooked during that time gap?
There's been some talk about police departments needing better training on handling cases with vulnerable adults, especially those with disabilities. Donna's case feels like a prime example of how systemic issues can let people slip through the cracks. Just hoping we can keep discussing these aspects so maybe changes can be advocated for in the future.
If anyone comes across recent articles or updates, please drop them here. It'd be great to have more eyes on this.
Has anyone else been following the case of Donna Michelle Calloway? I've been digging into it, and something that really strikes me is how she wasn't reported missing until over a year later. I just can’t wrap my head around why the police would refuse to take the report initially. We've seen policies and attitudes shift in recent years, but cases like Donna’s highlight how much more awareness and reform is needed. Considering her vulnerable status, it just seems like she fell through the cracks. I’m also curious about the lack of media coverage. Does anyone know if her family or any local groups have tried reaching out to the press, or if there have been recent efforts to draw more attention to her case?
