I’ve been thinking a lot about the role social media played in this senseless tragedy. It's so troubling how platforms that are supposed to connect us can be manipulated in such deadly ways. In Peter’s case, it's heartbreaking to see how something as simple as a message can lure someone into danger. I can’t even imagine the pain Peter's family must be going through, knowing that tech, something we all use daily, was part of this nightmare. It really makes me wonder about the responsibility these platforms have and if there’s more they could do to detect and prevent such malicious use. Has anyone else come across similar cases where social media was a factor? How do you think we can make digital communication safer, especially for young people? My heart goes out to all who knew and loved Peter.

I’ve been reflecting on the police investigation into Peter’s case, and I’m struck by just how detailed and intense it was. It’s absolutely mind-boggling to think about the technology used—like tracking cellphone data and retrieving messages from apps like Snapchat—to piece together the events that led to that fateful day. It must have been so agonizing for Peter’s family to learn about the lengths to which the suspects went to lure him there. My heart goes out to his mom and family who had to endure not just the loss, but also seeing such a thorough investigation unfold. It must have been both necessary and excruciating for them to witness the level of scrutiny required to bring some semblance of justice. The reliance on digital evidence really highlights how intertwined our personal lives have become with technology, for better or worse. I just hope Peter’s family feels some comfort knowing that the perpetrators were identified and prosecuted, even though nothing can undo the pain they’re going through.
