I recently read about the tragic case of Jill Phipps, and something that stood out to me was the lack of enforcement of the red flag laws. It boggles my mind that despite clear signs of distress and a documented history of domestic issues, nothing was done to address the presence of firearms in their home. This seems like a massive oversight that could have potentially prevented such a heartbreaking outcome. I can't imagine the pain and frustration her family must be feeling, knowing that this tragedy might have been averted with more proactive intervention. Jill's story is unfortunately not unique and highlights a major gap in our system that desperately needs attention. My thoughts are with her daughters and everyone who loved her.
