I recently attended a vigil held by Angel's friends and family, and it was incredibly moving. They shared stories about her love for music and how she always had a song for every mood. It was beautiful to see the community come together to honor Angel's memory and stand against domestic violence. I can only imagine the strength it takes for her family to keep her spirit alive amidst their profound pain. Has anyone else been to a vigil like this? It's heartbreaking but also uplifting to witness the love and support from the community. If there’s anything positive to take away, it’s how these events remind us of the importance of looking out for one another and speaking up against abuse.
I keep thinking about the bravery it must’ve taken for Angel to try and leave an abusive relationship. It’s a true testament to her strength and spirit. She was so young and had her whole life ahead of her. It’s painful to imagine what her last moments might have been like and the fear she must’ve felt. Domestic violence is such a pervasive issue that we need to keep talking about. If only there had been more support or resources available for Angel, maybe things would have been different. To her family and loved ones, I hope you find some peace as you hold onto the memories of the wonderful person Angel was. Let’s all do what we can to prevent something like this from happening again.
