Hey everyone, I’ve been doing some digging into Joe Boyd Wright’s case, and I came across something interesting that we haven't discussed yet. Does anyone have any information on whether any efforts were made to contact local bus or train stations around the time Joe went missing? Considering he said he wanted to leave and not be found, it seems possible he might have tried to travel a substantial distance. Back in 1963, checking bus routes or train schedules would have been one of the first steps, but records from that far back can be tricky to find. If anyone has come across info or ideas on what routes were available at the time, it could give us a new angle to explore! It’s baffling how little we still know after all these years. Just trying to find another piece to the puzzle. Thanks! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I recently stumbled upon the case of Joe Boyd Wright and can't stop thinking about the situation he was in. Growing up in a large family with 13 siblings must have been quite overwhelming, and I wonder if he felt overlooked or not heard. It makes me think about the psychological weight young people might face when they feel like they’re perpetually "in trouble" or misunderstood. Joe said he wanted to change his name and disappear—it's such a strong statement for a 16-year-old. I can't help but wonder if he ever succeeded in starting the new life he imagined for himself. The fact that he completely vanished without a trace is equally fascinating and unsettling. If he did manage to create a new identity for himself, it could explain why there's been no contact or sightings. However, leaving everything behind, including all ties to his family, is such a drastic step. I'm curious if any locals around Delhi, LA, back then remember Joe or heard anything through the grapevine that might hint at what his plan was. Anyone else think he might have had somewhere specific in mind that he wanted to head to?
