I read about Heather Hobbs' murder recently, and it just made me think about how desperately her family and friends must have fought for justice over the years. It's really striking how long these cases can take before seeing any resolution. To think that it took over three years from the senseless act to the sentencing must have been excruciating for everyone who cared about her. I also can't help but wonder about the plea deal Walker got. I get that plea bargains are common, but knowing that a charge gets dropped in exchange is a tough pill to swallow for those who loved Heather. I hope her family finds some comfort in the fact that he was ultimately held accountable, even if the process wasn't perfect. Fort Wayne lost someone important, and I hope they continue to hold onto the beautiful memories of Heather. Her work in healthcare and dedication to her kids show just how deeply she cared about making the world a better place. ?

I've been following Heather Hobbs' case since the beginning, and I just can't stop thinking about how the community came together for her memorial. Heather was clearly cherished by so many, and seeing the outpouring of love reminded me of how powerful community support can be during such an awful time. I hope her children, who are undoubtedly facing tremendous loss, find some comfort in knowing their mother was deeply loved and respected by those around her. One detail that really struck me was how people kept sharing stories about Heather's kindness and positivity despite everything she was going through. It’s clear she left a significant mark on her friends and neighbors. If any other forum members attended the vigil back in 2021, or knew Heather personally, I’d love to hear more about how she touched your lives. Maybe sharing our memories can keep her spirit alive, even in a small way.

Just thinking about Heather and her family today... I can't even imagine how difficult these past few years must have been for them. It's so sad to think about how a life filled with so much love and potential was abruptly ended in such a tragic way. I came across an old post from a friend of Heather’s who mentioned how she always made everyone feel seen and valued. It must be a huge loss for those who were fortunate to know her personally. I've been following the trial updates and feel a mix of anger and relief knowing that Walker was finally sentenced. I hope this brings some sense of justice for Heather's loved ones. It's hard to believe that happening to someone right here in Fort Wayne. If anyone attends any local memorials or gatherings for Heather, please share how they go. Keeping Thomas and the kids in my thoughts. How is the community coping with this now that some time has passed since the sentencing?
