Has anyone else been closely following the tragic case of Matthew McGee? It's truly devastating to think about how such a young life was lost so senselessly. I've been particularly struck by the absence of witnesses willing to come forward. I can't imagine how painful it must be for his family to keep searching for answers with no new information. I came across a few discussions regarding security measures in public spaces like where this happened. It makes you wonder if things might have been different if there had been adequate lighting or surveillance that night. It’s a chilling reminder of how vulnerable our public spaces can be and how desperately we need better policies to protect our kids. The balloon release in his honor was such a touching tribute. It seems the community he was a part of feels this loss very deeply. Sending so much love to his family, friends, and the Belzer Middle School community.
