Neighborhoods are supposed to be safe havens, yet stories like KeiSean's make me question how we can prevent these tragedies from happening. What can we do as a community to protect our youth from falling into situations involving gun violence? It's heartbreaking to think that a young life was lost and another youngster's future is now deeply impacted because of this incident. I can't stop thinking about the role of access to firearms in tragedies like KeiSean's. How did such a young individual get hold of a gun in the first place? It's absolutely terrifying to think of how easily these weapons can end up in the hands of our kids. As a community, there's got to be more we can do to address gun safety and storage to prevent these senseless losses. My heart goes out to KeiSean's family and friends—I can't imagine the pain they're going through. Even though the legal system is doing its work, I can't help but wonder how we can come together to prevent this from happening again in the future.
