I can't stop thinking about how one of the things that really hits me about the shooting at the Hammond Day Festival is how it’s led to the festival being canceled altogether. I never attended, but I know it was a huge event for the community. With everything going on, it's unfortunate for people who used to look forward to this yearly gathering to celebrate. It's a shame how one night of violence has a ripple effect on so many lives, including local vendors and performers who relied on this festival. My heart truly goes out to Blake's family and everyone affected by this tragedy. I hope they find peace and justice, but I also hope the community finds a way to heal and eventually create new, safe spaces for people to come together.
I stumbled upon more about Blake Blakemore’s case and felt compelled to share some thoughts. I'm genuinely perplexed and saddened by how a festive celebration like Hammond Day could turn into such a tragic event. It's just awful knowing that Blake and Larry were trying to enjoy a community event, and instead, their lives were stolen from them. I'm curious if anyone knows about how the investigation is going or if the police have made any progress. It's worrying that there seems to be so little information coming out. My heart truly goes out to Blake, Larry, and the other victims' families. I can't even begin to imagine what they're going through. If anyone has updates or knows how we can continue supporting the families or the investigation, please share. This violence has to stop—no more lives should be needlessly lost like this.
