Has anyone else been thinking about the missed opportunities for intervention in the Devonta Roberts case? It's so disturbing how common it is for domestic situations to escalate to that level of violence. It makes me wonder if there were warning signs or past incidents that could have been addressed. What particularly strikes me is that a 5-year-old non-verbal boy was in the apartment and attempted to get help— what an awful situation for a child to be in. It just breaks my spirit thinking about what that little boy experienced. I really hope he's getting the support he needs now. I'm no expert, but it feels like this tragedy might not have been inevitable if there had been some sort of support or intervention earlier. What do you all think? Can anything more be done to prevent this kind of thing, or are we all seeing these stories too often without real change?

I'm truly at a loss for words about the impact this has had on the community. Reading about little Datoria's last words just breaks my heart. It's unimaginable what that poor child went through and what the non-verbal 5-year-old must have witnessed. I can't help but wonder about the long-term effects on that little boy and how he will process this as he grows up. My thoughts are with the family members who are left to pick up the pieces and support him through such unimaginable trauma. It’s a painful reminder of how domestic violence destroys not just the direct victims but everyone around them. Sending strength to all who are affected by this senseless tragedy.

It’s unbelievably painful to think about little Datoria in those final moments. I keep thinking about how brave she was to speak up and identify her father as the one who hurt her. I can't imagine the courage it took for a 3-year-old to do that, especially after such a traumatic event. It just goes to show what a bright and strong little girl she must have been. I hope that Datoria's voice helps raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence on children and families. It’s chilling to think about the non-verbal 5-year-old boy witnessing the whole scene, trying to get help. I pray he's getting all the support and love he needs right now. This case really hits home how crucial it is for us to support victims and do everything we can to intervene before it’s too late. Sending all my love to the family and hoping they find some peace in this nightmare.
