Anyone else find it curious about the skiff that was found tied to a rock in Canoe Pass? If the sea conditions were rough enough to overturn one skiff, why would the second one be securely tied like that? Seems like an odd detail to me. Did they manage to secure it before something went wrong, or could there be another explanation? Maybe they sought shelter there? Has anyone local to the area ever talked about whether the tides or currents in that spot could have played a role? Feels like it might be a clue that’s worth looking into further. Any thoughts?

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the case of Victor (Jay) Burgess and the four other men who went missing off the Alaskan coast back in '78. Something I can't get off my mind is the skiff that was found tied to a rock in Canoe Pass. What could have led someone to secure it there? It's 15 miles from their last known location, and why tie it in such a seemingly remote area? Were they planning to make a stop, or did something force them to dock in a hurry? It's strange because the other skiff was submerged. If anyone’s familiar with the geography or has insights on what this means, I’d love to hear your thoughts. It seems like there are pieces of the puzzle that might be hiding in plain sight.
