I've been following Verne Edenshaw Jr.'s case, and something that's always intrigued me is the discovery of the two skiffs. One was found submerged near Cruz Island, and the other was tied to a rock in Canoe Pass. It strikes me as odd that one was submerged while the other remained above water and was securely tied. Could this indicate that they initially split for some reason, or was there an unexpected event on the water that led to them being separated? Has anyone looked into tides or weather patterns on that day back in 1978? I wonder if these factors might have led to the boats ending up where they did. It must be so difficult for the families not having concrete answers after all this time.
