Has anyone seen any updates or new searches scheduled for the King Salmon to Kodiak route where James Madsen Jr's plane disappeared in '78? I recently stumbled upon a forum mentioning possible debris sightings over the years in Shelikoff Straits, but it seems like nothing ever pans out or gets confirmed. Are there any local efforts in place today, or has it all just gone cold? It's haunting how the straits continue to hold so many secrets, especially considering they're right along a busy route. Being cut off from any concrete evidence for decades must be so tough for their families. Any Alaskans here with more detail or insight?
I’ve been looking into the case of James Madsen Jr., Nekita Katelnikoff, and Marion Parker, and I found something odd about the flight they were on. Has anyone else noticed how little information there is about the weather conditions on the day their plane disappeared? From what I gather, Shelikoff Straits can be pretty treacherous, especially in bad weather. If anyone has access to historical weather data, it might help paint a clearer picture of what could have happened that day. It’s just a thought, but sometimes these small details can shed new light on cold cases like this. If you’ve come across anything interesting or have leads about the crew or the plane, I’d be curious to hear them.
