Has anyone looked into the weather conditions on 09/17/1978 around the time of the flight? I was reading about similar incidents in the area, and it seems like unpredictable weather has played a significant role in aviation mishaps. It makes me wonder if a sudden storm could have caught them off guard. I know Shelikoff Straits can be particularly treacherous with fog and winds. Just curious if this angle has been explored further in their case. Any insights or thoughts?

Hey everyone, I just stumbled upon this case and was wondering if anyone else finds the circumstances surrounding the flight really perplexing. Nekita Katelnikoff, along with James Madsen Jr. and Marion Parker, vanished on 09/17/1978 while flying from King Salmon to Kodiak. I've been researching small aircraft incidents and the Shelikoff Straits area where the plane might have gone down seems notoriously difficult for searches. Does anyone know if there were any weather reports that day or if the area was known for any specific aviation hazards back in the late 70s? Just trying to piece together what might have happened. Any insights would be appreciated!
