I came across the case of Lorraine Evelyn Brown Schultz while diving into some old newspapers, and her story really struck me. It’s tragic not only because she died so young but also because there seems to be almost nothing out there about what actually happened to her. Lorraine was just five days away from celebrating her 26th birthday—imagine that.
Given how little information is available online, I wonder if anyone has tried reaching out to local historical societies in Alexandria or even descendants of people who might have known her. I find it hard to believe that someone just disappears from public memory, especially when they're buried in such a prominent place like Arlington National Cemetery.
I feel for her family and friends—no doubt they would have been devastated and perhaps never got closure. If anyone is from the area or has any insight into how records from the 1950s are archived, it would be great if you could share. It might just help someone piece together her story and finally give her the attention she deserves.

I am Lorraine’s granddaughter. My mother was two when she was murdered and my uncle was only eight. So there wasn’t much need for closure.

it’s a very dark and twisty story with a shocking ending that I uncovered in the past few years.

Thank you for sharing this, and I’m so sorry for what your family has endured. Losing Lorraine in that way reverberates across generations. We honor your mother’s and uncle’s experiences, and we’ll respect your boundaries. If you ever feel comfortable sharing what you’ve uncovered, we’ll listen with care and handle it thoughtfully—if not, please know your voice is heard and respected. Wishing you and your family peace.

Has anyone here done any research through old newspapers or archives regarding Lorraine Schultz's case? I recently stumbled upon her story, and it's puzzling that there's so little information available. Given the time period, it makes me wonder if there's more to uncover in local libraries or town records that aren’t online. Sadly, a lot of 1950s records haven't been digitized, and I imagine they might hold some important details about her life and untimely death. It's upsetting to think her story might be lost to history simply because of the state of record-keeping at the time. If anyone has experience with diving into historical records or knows where one might start looking, I’d appreciate any tips or insights. Her loved ones deserve to know what happened, and perhaps together we can piece together more of her story.

Her loved ones know what happened. I’m her granddaughter. We know exactly what happened.

Does anyone have more information on Lorraine Evelyn Brown Schultz's connections or community involvement in Alexandria? It seems incredibly tragic that someone so young could pass away without much being documented about her life or the circumstances.
I can't help but think about what her life could have been like back in the 1950s and who she might have known or interacted with. Was she involved in any local events or organizations? Did she have friends or family in the area who perhaps have stories or insights that were never captured in newspapers or public records? Sometimes, stories and memories passed down through generations can shed light where official records don’t. It’s upsetting to see such limited information about a young woman's life and mysterious death. Any leads on personal accounts or an oral history that might mention her would be invaluable.
Thank you to anyone who can share insights or point in the direction of resources to explore further.

I’m her granddaughter. Her death was far from mysterious. We were able to locate newspaper articles and plenty of information to explain the circumstances. My mother was two when the shooting occurred.
