Hi everyone, I’ve been reading through the threads about Lupita Hernandez and can’t help but focus on the lack of resources that seem to have played a role in this tragedy. It's deeply concerning how certain neighborhoods in Chicago, where many young people call home, seem to be left without adequate support or prevention measures. These are communities that desperately need investment in education, career opportunities, and safe spaces for youth. While there are programs out there, it seems like they’re not reaching the areas that need them most. I keep thinking about how different things might be if the city’s approach had been preventative rather than reactive. Lupita’s story haunts me as it seems like these systemic failings continue to allow such violence to persist. I can only hope that this ongoing conversation leads to real change for Lupita and all the other young lives lost too soon. What are your thoughts on how community resources can be better allocated to prevent such tragedies in the future? Would love to hear ideas or examples you think might help. Stay safe, everyone.
