Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the details of Rob's disappearance from 1981 and something's been puzzling me. The plane was flying from Port Walter to Port Lucy, right? Given the technology and resources back then, what factors could have contributed to the lack of a successful search effort? I mean, I know it's a tough terrain with lots of water and wilderness, but could there have been something more that hindered the search? Maybe adverse weather conditions or limited aviation expertise in the area at the time? It's just so tragic that no trace of any of them was found. Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has come across similar aviation-related missing persons cases from that era.
I was digging into the flight records around the date Rob and the others went missing from Port Walter, and it got me thinking about weather conditions. July 1981 was notorious for fog and unpredictable weather in that area, right? I wonder how much of a role that played in their disappearance. Does anyone know if the aircraft had any sort of distress signal or communication equipment that could’ve been affected by the weather? It’s so frustrating how little info there seems to be on the actual flight path they took. If anyone’s looked into similar cases from that region or time period, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
