Charles Carroll Brown was 37 when he disappeared after a boating accident on the Yukon River on September 8, 1982. He was aboard a boat near the Yukon River Bridge, about three miles downriver, when confusion and strong currents led to his vanishing. At the time he was described as white, brown hair, blue eyes, about 5 feet 10 inches and 180 pounds, possibly wearing military-style clothing.
The Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks handled the investigation, but no sign of him was ever recovered and the case went cold.
Anyone who was on the Yukon River that day or who has information about boats or search efforts near the Yukon River Bridge in September 1982 is asked to come forward.
