I've been thinking about the role that life insurance can play in crimes like this one, and it's really unsettling. C.J. and his dad lost their lives because Teresa saw dollar signs and thought of a horrific way to cash in on it. It makes me wonder how many other families have been put at risk because someone saw them as a payout instead of loved ones. The pain that the Lewis family has had to endure, all because of greed, is unimaginable. It also brings up questions about how these policies can be manipulated and whether there should be stricter checks to prevent such tragedies. How heartbreaking it must be for anyone who knew and cared for C.J. and Julian to grapple with this betrayal. I hope the conversations this case started have led to better protections for other families.
