I was just reading about the Virginia Tech tragedy and came across the story of Dr. Liviu Librescu. It's incredibly moving how this remarkable man, a survivor of the Holocaust, once again confronted such terrifying circumstances with an unfathomable level of courage. The fact that he stood firm and used his own body to block the door, buying precious time for his students, speaks volumes about his character and dedication to others. It’s important to keep sharing stories about individuals like him. His actions are a powerful reminder of selflessness even in the most dire situations. My heart goes out to his family and all those who lost loved ones in this senseless act. Dr. Librescu's legacy isn't just about what he did during those tragic moments but also about his lifelong dedication to teaching and inspiring others. I hope his story continues to encourage more conversations about campus safety and mental health.
