I've been following the discussion around Charles Bernard Richardson's case, and it's just devastating to think about what his family and friends must have gone through, especially starting the year with such a tragedy. I wanted to bring up something I haven't seen discussed much here: the community's response to gun violence in Portsmouth around that time. I remember there were talks about initiating more neighborhood watch programs and increasing community policing efforts after Charles's death. Did anyone else hear about these initiatives or know if they led to any long-term changes? It's crucial that we keep talking about how communities can come together to prevent violence and support each other. My thoughts continue to be with Charles's loved ones, hoping they eventually find the answers they need.
I’ve been thinking about Charles Bernard Richardson’s case, and something’s been bugging me. I understand they found his body in a Nissan on Centre Avenue, but I’ve been wondering if there were any surveillance cameras nearby. It was New Year’s Eve leading into New Year’s Day, and I imagine there might’ve been more activity or cameras around due to the festivities. It seems like any footage from nearby businesses or traffic cameras could hold some key insights. Does anyone know if the police ever mentioned looking into that possibility or if any local businesses were asked to provide their camera footage? My heart goes out to Charles’ family — I can’t imagine their grief and the frustration of waiting for answers. Hopefully, they can find some justice and peace soon.
