I was reading through some old newspaper archives and came across an interesting detail about Martin Sullivan's case that's not often discussed. Apparently, there was a brief mention in a January 1970 edition of the local newspaper about an unidentified caller who claimed to have seen a man fitting Martin's description near a diner off the main highway leading to Mount Jefferson. The caller mentioned that the man looked disoriented and was seen talking to someone in a dark-colored sedan. This lead didn't seem to be followed up in the original investigation, or if it was, there's no public record of it. I wonder if anyone else has heard of this or has more information? Could be worth digging deeper into these side stories since sometimes they hold the missing pieces.
Hey everyone, I was reading through the threads on Martin Sullivan's case and something caught my eye. Has anyone else noticed the bit about Martin carrying a handgun in his work bag? I feel like this detail might have more significance than we realize. In the 70s, carrying a firearm was less scrutinized than today, but still, it's kind of strange, right? It raises a lot of questions about why he felt the need to carry it that day. Was he planning on meeting someone or expecting trouble? Or maybe it was for personal protection because he felt threatened? It's been so many years, but looking into who he might have been interacting with around that time could offer some insights. Anyone else have thoughts on this angle? Would love to hear what you all think.
