Did anyone else attend the Annual Gathering of Remembrance this year in Fairbanks? I was there and it was such a powerful experience. Hearing the names of the missing and murdered Indigenous people, like Wilfred Charlie, really made me realize how much work still needs to be done for these cases. I can't help but think about how many families are still waiting for answers. It was a good reminder that we need to support these communities and push for more resources and attention to solve these cases. If anyone else went or has thoughts on how we can help, I'd love to hear from you!

I came across an article about Wilfred (Dickie) Charlie while researching missing and murdered Indigenous people, and it really got me thinking about the importance of community-led initiatives. The Annual Gathering of Remembrance hosted by the Tanana Chiefs Conference and the Fairbanks Native Association seems like such a powerful event. It's crucial that communities have a space to honor and remember their lost loved ones, and it also serves as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done for justice. I can't help but wonder if gatherings like this can inspire more focused attention from authorities or lead to better resources for solving these cases. Has anyone attended one of these events or know more about how it impacts the broader push for justice? Would love to hear thoughts or similar cases!

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Wilfred (Dickie) Charlie and something that stands out to me is the communal impact his disappearance and death have had – especially listening to stories from locals in Carmacks and the surrounding areas. It’s clear that Dickie was someone who truly mattered to his community, and his loss left a real void. Attending events like the Annual Gathering of Remembrance really seems to cement how interconnected everyone feels about these tragedies. It’s like the entire community is involved in this shared mourning process, which makes me wonder how many other cases might not even be known if not for collective efforts to remember and honor those who’ve disappeared or been murdered. If anyone here knows more about initiatives for missing Indigenous people in Canada or any ways to support, I'd love to hear more. Thanks.
