I've been following the tragic case of Gerald Bucknor, and I can't stop thinking about the toll such violence takes on families left behind. I read that Gerald was known to be a kind soul, someone who always tried to help out his neighbors. It's devastating to think about the pain his family must be going through, losing someone so unexpectedly and violently. The South Shore neighborhood has seen so much heartache over the years, and while the police have been working to reduce the violence, it's clear that so much more needs to be done. I hope that the community can come together to support one another during these trying times and push for changes that address these deeper issues. No family should have to endure the loss of a loved one like this, and my thoughts are very much with the Bucknor family.
