I recently stumbled upon the case of Stephen G. Swartout, missing from Kodiak, Alaska, since December 27, 1986, while browsing the NamUs database. Something that strikes me is the role of local media and community involvement in keeping these cases alive over the years. It's amazing how television segments, podcasts, and local newspapers still discuss Stephen's case. They ensure these stories aren’t forgotten, even decades later. I think the ongoing coverage is key in keeping people aware and possibly leading to new information coming forward. Does anyone here know of specific podcasts or local journalists that have covered Stephen's case extensively? Sharing such resources might help others in the community stay informed or even uncover new leads. It’s incredible what collective awareness can do!
