I’ve been following the case of Sharon Castro and her sister Brooklynn, and one detail that sticks with me is the courage Sharon showed in her final moments. Despite being gravely injured, she managed to call 911 and identify her mom as the shooter. I can't imagine the strength it must have taken for a 15-year-old to think and act so bravely under those circumstances. Sharon’s call is a testament to her will to seek help, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking that she didn't survive. My heart goes out to their family and friends who are left to make sense of such unimaginable loss. Her courage deserved a different ending, and I think we all need to reflect on how we can better reach out and support people struggling with mental health before it’s too late.

I still can't get over the bravery Sharon displayed in her final moments. Even after being terribly injured, she managed to call 911 and give a crucial account of what happened. It's so haunting to think about the strength and presence of mind she demonstrated at just 15 years old. Her call gave investigators vital evidence and spoke volumes about her character. My heart goes out to her father and everyone who loved these girls. It’s unfair that two young lives were lost in such a senseless way. I hope Sharon and Brooklynn's memories live on and drive meaningful conversations about mental health and domestic issues.
