Hey everyone, had a thought about Lamont Olsen's case. Has anyone looked into whether he might have had any connections in the Dillingham area back in 1987? I mean, it's quite a remote place, and you don’t just end up there by accident, right? Maybe he knew someone or had business there? With nothing new coming out, maybe looking into who he interacted with might give us a clue or lead. Sometimes a fresh perspective can help, so curious if anyone else is digging into this aspect of the case. I know it's been years, but persistent interest might jog someone’s memory eventually. Any thoughts or info?
I've been following the Lamont Olsen case for a while now, and something that's been nagging at me is how differently some missing persons cases are handled compared to others. I know resources can be stretched thin, especially in a place like Alaska, but it feels like Lamont's case hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves over the years. Given that he’s been missing since 1987, I wonder if it’s partly because there wasn’t a lot of media coverage back then.
It seems like the Missing Persons Clearinghouse does a lot to try and spread the word now, but I wonder how effective those efforts were back in the late 80s and 90s. Was it harder to get cases like Lamont's in front of the public eye? Would love to hear from anyone who has insights into how missing persons cases were managed back in the day or has seen this kind of situation affect other cases. Could there be potential untapped information that never made it to the authorities because of the lack of media presence or public awareness? Any thoughts?
