Reading about Israel Gamez Jr.'s murder has really hit me hard, especially when I think about his newborn son. He was just 18 and had barely started his life, and now his son will grow up without his father. It's devastating to know that what was supposed to be a simple transaction turned so violent. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through, but I hope they find some solace in the support from their community. It's a stark reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control and how important it is for young people to make safe choices.
