Has anyone else looked into the weather reports from Virginia Beach on January 1, 1970, the day Julian McDaniels went missing? I've been diving deep into this and found it was a pretty overcast day with intermittent rain. I'm wondering how this might have affected search efforts or if it made it harder for any witnesses to have seen anything suspicious. It's a small detail but maybe someone local remembers something unusual due to the weather? Just a thought. Would love to hear if anyone has any insights or other angles we might be missing here!
I was just reading through some old articles and discussion threads on Julian McDaniels, and something caught my attention. Does anyone else think it's odd that there seems to be so little information available about his personal life or what he was doing on the day he disappeared? I know this was back in 1970, but surely someone must have known who he was spending time with or what his plans were that day?
I’m also curious about the area near Lesner Bridge back in 1970. What was the vibe like there? Was it a place people would often go for walks or meet ups, or was it more secluded back then? Knowing more about the context might provide some insight into why Julian might have been there. Also, considering that no conclusive evidence has turned up, is it possible he just up and left of his own accord? I know it's a stretch, but in cases like this, I can't help but wonder about every possibility...
Hey everyone, just jumping in here because I stumbled across something that's been bothering me about the Julian McDaniels case. I was looking at old maps from the Virginia Beach area around 1970, and it struck me as odd how secluded some spots near Lesner Bridge were back then. It's one of those areas with all these hidden trails and dense foliage, especially back in the day before the area got more developed.
Does anyone think it's possible that someone familiar with these paths could have had something to do with it? Maybe someone who knew the area well could have easily used the natural cover to their advantage. I've always thought that there might be a connection between the geography and how a person could just vanish without a trace. Hoping maybe this angle sparks a thought for others who've been piecing together this puzzling case over the years.
