I’ve been thinking a lot about the neighbors who reported the gunshots that terrible night at the Chartwell Apartments. It must have been terrifying to wake up to that chaos. I can’t imagine what they went through hearing those gunshots and then seeing such a heavy police presence outside their homes. It’s such a close-knit community, and something like this just shakes everyone to the core. I hope they’re finding some sense of security and peace as time goes on, although I know it's not easy after something so traumatic. It just goes to show how much ripples of such violence spread far beyond just the immediate victim and their family. Hoping for healing for every single person affected.
I’ve been thinking a lot about Vanessa C. Johnson's role in this tragic case. It always amazes me how the choices of individuals can so deeply affect the lives of so many, including their own.
