Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the emergency response to the Virginia Beach shooting and how crucial every second was during such a chaotic situation. It must have been incredibly difficult for first responders to quickly navigate the complex and assess where the threats were coming from, considering Building 2’s layout and the panic among employees. It’s heart-wrenching to consider that Tara, along with the others, might have been saved if the response could have been faster or more coordinated.
It breaks my heart to think about Patrick growing up without his mom, knowing she was just doing her job that day. I hope there’s been a push to ensure that first responders have better tools and systems to deal with such scenarios in the future. Maybe there have been improvements in emergency procedures or communication technologies as a result.
Sending strength to Tara’s family and all others affected.
Stay safe, everyone!

It seems she not only worked as an engineer but was actively contributing to improving safety measures at the Municipal Center. Her colleagues have mentioned how she was always striving to make the workplace safer for everyone, which makes her loss even more significant. It's incredibly sad to think about the potential positive impact she could have continued to make, not just for her coworkers but for the broader community as well.
