I’ve been thinking a lot about the evidence presented during Randolph Eugene Smith’s trial and how it really disproved his self-defense claim. What sticks with me is that Neil 'Matt' Waters was shot four times, one of those shots being in the back of his head. That kind of detail really makes you question Smith’s story about being threatened with a knife. I feel for Waters' family, especially his young son Everett, who has to grow up without his dad. It’s hard to comprehend how anyone in a family can take such a destructive route. If anyone wants to talk more about this, or share their insights, I’d be really interested in hearing other perspectives about how this unfolded.
